sNET Watcher is an advanced computer-usage capture/replay application designed for use by law enforcement, military, and government agencies only. Watcher consists of two components: Agent and Console that work together in order to collect and report detailed session information collected on a target computer. Currently, Watcher supports both Windows NT and Windows 2000 operating systems.
Watcher Agent can be seamlessly installed on the target computer that needs to be monitored, and lies dormant until triggered to go active by the Watcher Console from a remote location. Watcher Agent collects keystrokes typed on the installed computer, saves them to a pre-defined file, and then sends them to the Console on a configurable port via User Datagram Protocol (UDP) over LAN or Internet connections whenever they are available. Internet connectivity allows authorized personnel to surveil specific activity on an unlimited number of computers from any location around the world. Watcher Agent can be configured to turn on or off on demand, based on a predefined time period, specific set of keystrokes, keywords, or based on Windows' titles.
When Watcher Console receives keystroke reports from Watcher Agent, it parses the information based on Windows' titles and displays it in a tree-view format. Each keystroke is also tagged with a time stamp and the title of the Window from which it was received. As an added convenience, the Watcher Console provides a keyword search feature, which can be used to quickly locate keystrokes based on specific words or phrases of interest.
